How to use

1. Remove fresh snow and loose ice mechanically.

3. Allow it to work, then remove the resulting slush.
4. Repeat as needed if ice forms again.

Performance depends on temperature, moisture and ice thickness. De-icing salt does not replace mechanical snow removal or caution when walking.

Surface compatibility and handling

Check that the paving or surface manufacturer permits salt treatment. Salt can damage sensitive materials and metal parts. Minimise runoff into vegetation and contact with animal paws. This is technical de-icing salt, not swimming pool salt or food-grade salt.

At what temperature does de-icing salt work?

De-icing salt becomes significantly less effective when the surface temperature falls below approximately −9 °C. The rate of ice melting depends on surface temperature, moisture and the amount of salt. In severe frost, melting slows down; sand or a suitable abrasive grit can help improve traction.
