Skimmers for liner, plastic and fibreglass pools
A skimmer draws surface water and floating debris into the filtration circuit. Installation depends on the wall construction, sealing flange, throat depth and space available behind the pool.
A compact skimmer with a return inlet
The Olympic 15 × 15 with return inlet is a compact design with a 1½″ connection or connections for 32/38 mm hoses. Its stated internal opening is 14.4 × 15.1 cm; the front frame has different dimensions. When replacing an older skimmer, screw spacing and the existing wall opening matter too.
Standard and extended throats
The VA 215 Ă— 160 mm liner skimmer is one of the larger built-in models. Extended-throat and wide-mouth versions are also available. An extended throat accommodates a thicker wall, while a wide mouth changes the shape of the opening; neither is automatically the better choice for every pool.
The number and position of skimmers depend on surface area and circulation design. The specific model determines permitted flow and installation procedure. For a liner pool, the flange, seals and their fitting must all be suitable; the general pool material designation is not enough.
