Adhesive and cleaner to suit the joint material
For solvent-weld pool pipework, choose products according to the pipe and fitting materials. Rigid PVC-U, flexible PVC and ABS may require different procedures and adhesives.
Surface preparation and bonding
Griffon cleaner 125 ml prepares PVC joints before bonding. Cleaner alone does not replace adhesive. The range includes Tangit 125 g, Griffon and Unecol adhesives, and products designated for flexible hoses.
For a particular adhesive, the permitted material, diameter and joint type matter. A separate product is available for repairing ABS components; fitting a hose over a tail with a clip is a different installation method from a solvent-weld socket.
When can water be turned on?
Working and curing times follow the adhesive's technical data sheet, temperature and intended pressure. A joint that feels firm after a few minutes may not yet be ready for service.
