Flexible hoses for solvent welding or hose-tail connections
Flexible pool hoses differ in how they are installed. Some are solvent-welded into PVC fittings, while others fit over a hose tail and are secured with a clip. This also affects the dimension stated in the name.
Hose-tail connections
The blue 38 mm hose has a stated inside diameter of 38 mm. It connects without adhesive and is secured with a stainless steel clip. Choose the clip by the hose's outside size when fitted over the tail and by the clip's adjustment range.
Solvent-weld flexible PVC hose
The grey 50/43 mm hose has an outside diameter of 50 mm and an inside diameter of 43 mm. It is solvent-welded into matching fittings with adhesive suitable for flexible PVC. Both listed hoses are sold by the metre.
The route must respect the particular hose's permitted bend radius and operating conditions. Avoid kinks and do not place pulling loads on the connected equipment.
