Test strips for quick water checks
Test strips differ in the parameters they measure and their scale ranges. The same strip may not suit a chlorine pool, active oxygen care and salt testing.
Several readings on one strip
The 5-in-1 tester, pack of 50 strips checks free chlorine, pH, alkalinity, total hardness and cyanuric acid. Compare each pad with its corresponding scale on the packaging.
Separate salinity testing
The salt test strips, pack of 20 check salinity. They do not replace disinfectant testing: pools with salt chlorinators still need other water parameters monitored.
Follow the individual product's instructions for dipping, waiting and any shaking off of excess water. Do not apply one type's procedure to every other strip. Dry storage, closed packaging and reagent expiry dates matter too.
Strips are practical for a quick indication. If the colour is unclear or you need a more detailed assessment, supplement the result with a suitable drop test, tablet test or photometer method for the same parameter.
