Repairing pool liners and plastic components
The right repair depends on where the water is leaking and which material is damaged. Thin PVC liner needs a different product from a rigid skimmer body. Any product used underwater must be explicitly approved for that purpose.
Patching a thin liner
The 30 ml pool repair kit is intended for thin pool liners and can be used above or below water. It contains adhesive and one 15 × 9 cm patch. Prepare both the damaged area and the patch according to the instructions, then press firmly into place and allow the specified curing time.
Adhesive for ABS
Special ABS adhesive, 125 ml is an alternative for components actually made from ABS. White colour alone does not identify the material. This adhesive should not be treated as an automatic substitute for a patch on a flexible liner.
A falling water level may also be caused by a seal or pipework. Locate the leak first. Extensive damage, a stressed joint or a crack in a load-bearing part needs an assessment of the appropriate repair, rather than simply coating the surface with adhesive.
