PVC couplings, elbows and tees for pool pipework
A coupling joins two pipes in a straight line, an elbow changes direction and a tee creates a branch. Alongside size, the design of both ends matters: a solvent-weld socket, external spigot or thread.
Straight coupling and short elbow
The 50 mm PVC coupling has two solvent-weld sockets for pipe with a 50 mm outside diameter. It is 65 mm long, with an insertion depth of 30 mm on each side.
The short 90° 50 mm socket × spigot elbow has a socket on one side and an external solvent-weld spigot on the other. It can therefore connect to a suitable fitting without a short piece of pipe between them. Both joints are solvent-welded.
Assembling the pipework
Dry-fitting the assembly and marking branch positions helps before bonding. Joints need clean, prepared surfaces and adhesive intended for the material used. The adhesive manufacturer specifies the curing time before filling and pressure operation.
