Algaecides for pool water
Use an algaecide for its stated purpose and at the specified dose. With green water, also assess pH, disinfection, physical cleaning and filter condition. Adding one product alone may not resolve the whole problem.
Foaming around water features
Alba Super, 1 l is offered as a non-foaming product. Algex, 1 l is slightly foaming and is not recommended for pools with counter-current swim systems. This difference is a more useful guide than simply dividing products into those for small and large pools.
Prevention and treating an existing problem
Preventive and remedial doses can differ. Follow the individual product label, water volume and care system in use. Algaecides with different concentrations should not automatically be dosed in the same quantities.
Brush deposits from the walls with a suitable brush, then remove debris by vacuuming and filtration. If the water remains cloudy without algae, another approach may be needed rather than more algaecide. Never mix concentrates, and combine treatments only as permitted by their instructions.
Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
