Digital testers by parameter and measuring method
A display makes results easier to read, but different instruments measure different quantities. Before choosing, decide whether you need only pH, salinity or several water parameters.
pH meter and photometer
The FT11 is a pH tester with manual calibration using a solution. The PoolLab 2.0 is a photometer with several measuring chambers. It uses a sample and the appropriate reagents, rather than being a universal probe that displays every value when immersed.
Accessories and correct procedure
For a photometer, select the method and reagents for the specific parameter, such as chlorine or alkalinity. A clean cuvette, correct sample volume and specified reaction time matter. A pH meter requires electrode care and calibration according to its manual.
For regular use, also allow for reagent replenishment and spare part availability. A digital reading does not eliminate errors in sampling or measurement preparation.
