Tablet test kits for the parameters you need
A manual tablet test kit uses a water sample and a reagent for a specific parameter. The result is read using the prescribed method, often by comparing the colour with a scale. The measuring range belongs to the tester, not simply to the tablet you buy.
Basic pH and chlorine testing
The EKO Cl/pH tablet test kit measures free chlorine and pH. It comes with ten chlorine tablets and ten pH tablets. Replenish these with the correct reagents for manual testing once used.
A kit with additional measurements
The PoolTest PT500 adds total alkalinity to chlorine and pH testing. Its stated package contents include twenty tablets for each of these three parameters. Bromine or active oxygen care requires a kit with the corresponding method and scale.
Clean chambers, accurate sample volume and the specified reaction time affect the result. Do not substitute photometer tablets for manual test tablets simply because they share the DPD or Phenol Red name. Testing frequency depends on pool use and water care instructions, rather than one interval for every pool.
