Filtration pumps for pools with salt chlorinators
A saltwater pump must tolerate the salt concentration used in the particular pool. The description “for salt water” therefore always applies to a specific model and its operating conditions.
Self-priming models for domestic pools
Both the Aqua Plus 6 and BADU Magic 6 are listed as self-priming pumps with strainers for fresh and salt water. Their details specify connections using 32/38 mm hoses or 50 mm solvent-weld pipework with the supplied adapters.
Choosing for the complete system
The required flow depends on the filter, pipe length and diameter, and resistance from heating and other equipment. The pump curve at the actual head is decisive. A higher number in a pump name does not by itself provide better filtration.
Before switching to salt electrolysis, establish the permitted salinity for the pump and other circuit components. Different versions within the same model range may be needed for higher salt concentrations.
