On-site chlorine generation for pools up to 160 m³
MiniSalt NPS 30/160 is a complete salt chlorinator with a controller and electrolytic cell. It generates chlorine from salt dissolved in the pool water while circulation runs. Adjust production to the pool conditions and filtration schedule for ongoing on-site disinfection.
In Normal Salt mode this version has a rated output of 30 g/h. Low Salt operation corresponds to the LS 23 version and 23 g/h output; reducing salt concentration does not retain the same output.
Controls you can understand
The display shows the production setting, which you adjust using the controls. The production setting is not a measurement of the current chlorine level in the water.
Polarity reversal helps keep the electrode clean
Regular polarity reversal limits scale build-up. Set the interval according to water hardness and the manual; periodic inspection of the cell is still necessary.
Production to suit pool use
Adjust the setting for temperature, bathing load and filtration time. A covered pool may need a different daily output from a hot weekend with frequent use.
A cell you can inspect
The transparent housing allows visual inspection of the electrode. Also check contacts, seals and connections during maintenance, rather than only the titanium plates.

Selection advice
Consider the 160 m³ rating together with operating conditions. Warmer water, frequent bathing and short filtration runs increase the output required. Near the volume limit, consider the next model rather than relying on a smaller unit running continuously at its maximum.
What makes up the supplied system
- The MiniSalt electronic controller for this version.
- The matching electrolytic cell.
- The corresponding cell and power leads and controller bracket for the supplied version.
Salt, pH regulation, the filtration pump and site-specific pipework materials are separate installation considerations. When replacing an older chlorinator, check space and the new cell connections.
Water and equipment care
Regularly test pH and free chlorine even in a saltwater pool. Check salinity, cell cleanliness and filtration run time. Self-cleaning reduces deposits but does not remove the need to inspect the electrode. Follow the manual for the exact generation when cleaning and winterising.
Frequently asked questions
Is a saltwater pool chlorine-free?
No. The chlorinator makes chlorine from salt within the equipment. The benefit is how chlorine is generated and supplied, not the elimination of chlorine disinfection.
Does this offer also regulate pH?
The MiniSalt offered here is a salt chlorinator. Automatic pH regulation requires a separate suitable device.
