WYBOT S2 SOLAR robotic pool cleaner
Our pool specialist’s view
Charging station using solar energy
Automatic return on low battery
Complete cleaning, app settings and scheduling
Solar charging depends on weather and panel placement
Does not skim the surface like a dedicated skimmer
We would choose S2 SOLAR where the station and panel can be positioned well to make useful use of sunlight. Its strength is convenient routine maintenance. Consider shading and weather when assessing operating reserves, rather than relying only on maximum figures.

How this model works in practice
The robot supports automatic return on low charge, a mobile app and scheduling. Filtration combines a 180 µm basket with a finer insert. DC charging is available alongside solar charging; an operating period reaches up to three hours depending on mode.
Controls and equipment
- A built-in rechargeable battery allows operation without a power cable attached.
- Configure cleaning modes and scheduling in the WYBOT app. App connectivity alone does not mean manual underwater steering is available.
- A docking station supports automatic return and recharging; install it to suit the pool edge following the manual.
- Solar charging depends on sunlight. Charging with an electrical adapter is also available.
Filtration: what is actually supplied
This version is supplied with 180 µm filtration. A lower micron figure indicates finer filtration. Fine filters clog sooner under a heavy debris load, so check them regularly. The cleaner does not replace the pool’s filtration and water treatment.
Before choosing
Solar energy depends on placement and weather. This is not a surface skimmer: the robot cleans the floor, walls and waterline, while the panel supplies charging energy.

Care after cleaning
Lift the cleaner by its handle and allow water to drain. Empty the filter and rinse it with clean water; a clogged basket reduces suction. Follow the manufacturer’s operating, charging and storage instructions.

How to care for your automatic pool cleaner
Regular care helps maintain performance and extend the cleaner’s service life. Refer to the manual for detailed instructions and the operating limits of your model.
- Maintain correct pH and chemical levels. Unsuitable pH or excessive sanitiser concentrations can damage materials and shorten the cleaner’s life.
- Do not leave the cleaner in the pool unnecessarily. The pool is not a place for permanent storage. This model returns to its charging dock during normal operation; when taking it out of service, remove, rinse and store it in a dry, ventilated place as instructed. Do not leave it in the water unnecessarily outside planned operation.
- Clean the filter after every use. Empty and thoroughly rinse the basket or filter bag. A clogged filter restricts water flow and reduces cleaning performance.
- Rinse the entire cleaner after use in salt water. Avoid unnecessary immersion. After removal, thoroughly rinse the exterior, filter compartment and removable filters with clean, unsalted water to remove salt residue. Follow the manual’s rinsing and handling instructions.
