Zodiac Freedom Lite robotic pool cleaner
Our pool specialist’s view
Cleans the floor, walls and waterline
Supplied 180 µm basket and fine 3 µm insert
Supported mode settings through FluidraPool
The fine insert needs more frequent rinsing
The three-hour maximum runtime does not apply to every mode
Freedom Lite’s combination of cordless cleaning and a supplied very fine insert is particularly useful. We would recommend it for whole-pool maintenance that also targets finer particles. The fine filter does need regular checking and rinsing.

How this model works in practice
A 180 µm main basket combined with a 3 µm fine insert offers more filtration options than a coarse basket alone. Sensors help guide the route, a transparent lid assists checks, and the FluidraPool app provides supported settings. Maximum stated runtime is up to three hours.
Controls and equipment
- A built-in rechargeable battery allows operation without a power cable attached.
Filtration: what is actually supplied
This version is supplied with 180 + 3 µm filtration. A lower micron figure indicates finer filtration. Fine filters clog sooner under a heavy debris load, so check them regularly. The cleaner does not replace the pool’s filtration and water treatment.
Before choosing
Clean the fine insert more frequently. Maximum runtime depends on mode and conditions rather than applying to every programme.

Care after cleaning
Lift the cleaner by its handle and allow water to drain. Empty the filter and rinse it with clean water; a clogged basket reduces suction. Before charging out of the pool, clean and dry the charging contact as instructed.

How to care for your automatic pool cleaner
Regular care helps maintain performance and extend the cleaner’s service life. Refer to the manual for detailed instructions and the operating limits of your model.
- Maintain correct pH and chemical levels. Unsuitable pH or excessive sanitiser concentrations can damage materials and shorten the cleaner’s life.
- Do not leave the cleaner in the pool unnecessarily. Remove the cleaner from the water after the cleaning cycle. Rinse it with clean water, allow it to drain and store it in a dry, ventilated place. Unnecessary prolonged immersion exposes its components to pool chemicals and mineral deposits.
- Clean the filter after every use. Empty and thoroughly rinse the basket or filter bag. A clogged filter restricts water flow and reduces cleaning performance.
- Rinse the entire cleaner after use in salt water. Avoid unnecessary immersion. After removal, thoroughly rinse the exterior, filter compartment and removable filters with clean, unsalted water to remove salt residue. Follow the manual’s rinsing and handling instructions.
