Pool salt for salt chlorinators
A salt chlorinator produces disinfecting chlorine from salt dissolved in the water. Pool salt is therefore a raw material for its operation; simply adding salt to a pool does not disinfect it.
Pool salt and regenerating tablets
Pool salt in a 25 kg pack is intended for pools with salt chlorinators. This particular item is available for collection only.
Supertab regenerating salt tablets 25 kg are mainly used in softeners and other water treatment equipment. The word “salt” alone is not enough to make these products interchangeable: the salt must meet the chlorinator manufacturer's requirements.
How much salt to add
The quantity required depends on water volume, the equipment's specified salinity and the current measured value. One concentration does not apply to every salt chlorinator. After adding salt, follow the equipment manual's dissolving and start-up procedure.
Ongoing care also includes pH and disinfectant testing. Salt water does not mean chlorine-free operation or water that automatically needs no further maintenance.
