45° PVC elbows for pool pipework
A 45° elbow changes the direction of pipework at a smaller angle than a right-angle elbow. Pipe diameter and the design of both ends of the fitting determine how the system is assembled.
Standard solvent-weld elbow
The 45° 50 mm elbow has two solvent-weld sockets for pipes with an outside diameter of 50 mm. This product has an insertion depth of 30 mm. Allow for this length when cutting the pipe and assembling the joint.
Short socket × spigot version
The short 50 mm elbow has an external spigot at one end. This is solvent-welded directly into the matching socket of the next fitting; at the other end, the pipe inserts into the elbow.
Layout and solvent welding
90° elbows provide a right-angle turn. Two 45° elbows take up a different amount of space from one right-angle elbow. Joint preparation, suitable cleaner and adhesive, and curing time follow the requirements of the pipe system used.
